Collection of papers related to Congregational minister Rev. William Gordon consists of three letters to Joseph Parker in London, 15 Dec. 1780, 25 Mar., and 22 June 1782; minutes taken by Gordon of a council of inquiry into the affairs of the Gordon's Church of the Third Parish in Roxbury (now Jamaica Plain, Mass.) in 1773; draft of a speech Gordon delivered ca. 1778 before a committee of the Massachusetts General Court concerning the disputed will of William Burroughs; and several photostat negatives of letters to various people from Gordon, 1772-99. Also includes an introduction to the letters by Worthington C. Ford, 1928, and a few handwritten copies of letters from Gordon to the Earl of Dartmouth, ca. 1772-3.
